On April 21, I will be running in the 112th Boston Marathon. As many of you know the Boston Marathon is our nation’s oldest race and the only Marathon that you must qualify to be able to run. I qualified to run the Boston Marathon back in October of 2007 by running the Hartford Marathon, 26.2 mile course in 2:59:43 (43rd place). Boston will be just my second Marathon.

If you are interested in further information on the Boston Marathon Please click the following link: The 112th Boston Marathon.

Being that The Boston Marathon is a little more expensive to finance my company Ashcroft of Stratford, CT, has helped by sponsoring me for this race. I am very fortunate and lucky to get this kind of help, and I can only hope that I make Ashcroft proud by wearing their logo on my jersey.
Along with being sponsored I am also running for a cause that I can truly relate to. I will be running the Boston Marathon for the Connecticut Down Syndrome Congress and all proceeds will go to them.

CONNECTICUT DOWN SYNDROME CONGRESS (CDSC)

As a runner I have always been able to stay motivated through purpose. I have always wanted to run and train for more then just a great time. I am very passionate about running not only the competition but the other great achievements that can come out of the sport. Every year millions of dollars are donated to causes just like this through races people who fundraise for something that is important to them. Many of you who know me well know that the CDSC is important to me, because my eight year old sister/goddaughter, Jessica, suffers from Down syndrome. She is truly an inspiration to me and makes me laugh constantly. She is very intelligent and never seems to let anything bother her. She is truly one of a kind. I’ve always planned on doing something like this it was just a question of when? What better time than the Boston Marathon the oldest and most historic Marathon in . I am very excited about this opportunity to run on behalf of Jessica for The CDSC to help support their mission. You can read all about the CDSC by clicking this link:

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! If you would like to make a cash donation instead please feel free to contact me at anytime.

Thank you all!

WELL IT HAS BEEN QUITE A WHILE SINCE I MADE ANOTHER POST ON THIS.

just to give everyone an update on how I did both on my $$ raised it ended up being a total of $4,450 much more than I expected.
Little sister and I pictured below:

Running wise I ran a personal best 2:56:56, for those who aren't aware a marathon 26.2 miles and I ran at a 6:44/mile pace. not to shabby! I was running next to lance picture below, I'm in blue he's in yellow really hard to see.

I actually went ahead of him for about 5 miles and then he ended up passing me and beat me by about 5 minutes. but that did not upset me.

when I got to heartbreak hill at mile 20-21 I saw my girlfriend and sister. Girlfriend pictured below. I've never done this in athletics I am really competitive and do not like to take away from the sport, but I don't know why I decided to do this it really was so spontaneous I ran over to my girlfriend through the crowd and gave her a nice sweaty kiss. It was the highlight of the marathon for her but she deserved something other than dinner.

Well I just thought you'd all like to know how it went and to get to know me a little better...

I AM ADDICTED TO RUNNING AND MOTIVATED BY OTHERS ASPIRING TO BE RUNNERS... IF ANYONE ON FLR EVER NEEDS ADVICE ON RUNNING OR EVEN A RUNNING PLAN PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK!
