Green 4 Green Trading

blog for the week of 4/14/2008

I am going to cheat on this weeks blog. I am going to just copy and paste a tutorial that I created awhile back. The subject matter is something that I believe strongly in. Although this tutorial was never officially posted on FLR, I have posted bits and pieces of it as a reply to some threads. I also have sent this tutorial to many new members to get them started gaining there own referrals. With the character limit on private messages I can not send this tutorial to any one in a message. So I am going to blog it.

============== Tips For Green 4 Green Trading ==============

So by now you have gone green on some site(s) and hopefully got paid for that green, and now you want the bigger prize which is the free gift from the freebie site. In order to get this gift you want to start gaining those referrals to fulfill your referral requirements.

You may be saying "But I don't have the funds in Paypal to pay for that many referrals." Well, let me tell you a little secret about how you can gain those referrals. There are other traders in the same situation as you so this is a normal thought to many. Why not help each other out?

It is time to introduce you to Referral 4 Referral trades. I have put this together to provide you some tips to conduct a positive green for green trade. A Green for Green trade (or Referral for Referral trade) is where two traders just swap greens. You go green on my site and I go green on your site. In most cases, no money changes hands. This is a very productive way of gaining referrals. It also can be a more profitable trade in some cases. Here are some tips on finding and conducting a good green for green trade.

The two sites involved in the trade should be of equal value. If no money is to change hands, then the price per referral on both sites involved in the trade should be the same. For example: If you are looking for referrals on freebiemonster.net (1 credit site $40/referral) you should look for another trader working a site that has the same credit value and payout per referral (1 credit $40/referral). So, trading a referral on polomonster.net for a referral on freebiemonster.net would be an equal trade. Both sites are one credit and $40/referral sites. Not to mention, within the same network so all offers are weighted the same. This would be a fair trade.

You would not want to trade referrals on a site that has a higher cash out per referral and a higher credit requirement then the site you are working, unless maybe the trade involves some cash payment as well. I will show you an example of this later. For now just keep it simple. Both referrals being traded should have equal value.

Trader A goes green on Trader B's freebiemonster.net in return Trader B goes green on Trader A's polomonster.net = FAIR Trade

Trader A goes green on Trader B's freebiemonster.net in return Trader B goes green on Trader A's 80.prizeoasis = UNFAIR Trade (freebiemonster.net is 1 credit $40/ref / 80.prizeoasis is 2 credit $80/ref)

Trade stipulations should be made before confirming a green 4 green trade. This should be the case for any trade but in a green 4 green trade it is always a good idea to have the trade terms typed out and agreed upon by both parties. The following are common terms of a green 4 green trade:

- Which trader will go green first? On most trading forums the trader with the lowest TR will go green first. Then the trader with the higher TR goes green second. This is the unwritten rule which is accepted by most traders. But, that is not to say that the trader with the lower TR always has to go green first. It is what both traders agree upon.

- What type of compensation will be made if a trader can not go green? This means, if Trader A goes green first then something happens that Trader B can not go green, then Trader B must compensate Trader A for the green they delivered. This compensation whether it be paypal payment or a green on another site should be spelled out in the trade terms.

- The time-frame in which both traders will go green by. This is optional but not a bad idea. You don't want a green 4 green trade dragging out for months. However, if a time-frame is setup, be realistic with it. There are factors involved that are out of the control of each trader which can affect the time it takes for a trader to go green on a site.

Research the freebie sites and offers. If you know you want to trade green 4 green to gain a referral, then have an idea of what site you want to go green on before seeking a trade partner. It is always a good idea before going green on any site (regardless what kind of trade you are doing), to research different sites. Check out what other traders are saying about a site, check their forum rankings. Check out the offers listed on the sites. Make sure the site has plenty of offers you are interested in and are available for you. It is always a good idea to make sure you have some offers you can complete as a backup in case the offer(s) you were planning to complete isn't available.

Finding a trade partner to trade green 4 green with. On most forums there is a trading forum dedicated to just these types of trades. Here on FLR, there is a forum called "Trading Referral for Referral". This is where you can go and look for a trader doing green 4 green trades. As in any trade, choosing a trading partner is important. I always suggest checking out a trader before approaching them about a possible trade. Check their TR (trade record), check their feedback comments, check how many posts they have on the forum, read their posts on the forum, chat with other traders that have traded with them, check the Lunch Theft forum and see if they were ever were involved with a disputed trade. If you are satisfied with the information you have gathered, contact the trader and chat with them awhile. Ask them questions about their sites, or trading in general. If they answer your questions, and are helpful they are probably safe to trade with.

I have included more examples of referral for referral trades. Check out the different combinations of trading that can be done. A trade involving a referral plus cash payment can be created in cases of unequal sites, also a two referral for one referral trade.

Trader A goes green on Trader B's freebiemonster.net and pays $20 in return Trader B goes green on Trader A's 80.prizeoasis = FAIR Trade

Trader A goes green on Trader B's freebiemonster.net and 40.macrobucks in return Trader B goes green on Trader A's 80.prizoasis = FAIR Trade

It is always best to keep your green 4 green trades simple. The examples above are just to be used as a guide to measure a trade's equality. If at any time you do not understand or are not sure of the trade terms, both traders should get together and discuss the trade terms. If there are still questions about trade terms or site equality, you can always contact a moderator for there critique of the trade terms. Remember, the moderators are veteran traders who have a lot of experience and are here to help you be profitable and successful.

**** Warning! the following information is deemphasized by many traders and can cause much debate ****

The financial truths about trading green 4 green. Ok, I said earlier that in some cases it can be more profitable to trade green 4 green. Let me try to explain why. If you are getting paid to go green on a $40/referral site, the average payment (what you will be paid) for the green is $20 (half of the payout per referral). If you do a green 4 green trade and both sites that make up your trade are $40/referral sites, then you will make $40. So, why get paid $20 to go green on a site when you can make $40 from a referral on your site. At the same time the person you traded with makes $40 on their site from your referral. This is a win, win situation.

Great blog. One question, after reading the message, they say I can't use prepaid credit cards. Do you have to have savings or checking to trade with people n the forum? I have a paypal account. Does a person have to have a savings or checking to be verified? I have prpaid debit cards. I do not have savings or checking.

Well to have a verified paypal account it should be tied to a savings or a checking account. A lot of traders don't like to trade with paypal un-verified traders.

As far as your prepaid cards go, most offers that are run through incentive marketing do not accept prepaid debit or credit cards. So you will not have much luck completing offers with these cards.
