How about some cheese with that Whine????

Posted 04-27-2008 at 05:45 PM by marbleeye
Blog entry for week 4/27/2008

As I read through the forum I notice a lot belly aching and whining in threads. “This trader stole my trade thread title” or “This trader posted this type of message and it’s against the rules” Gee Wiz. It sounds like my two toddlers. I can imagine all the cripes and complaints that moderators get through PMs or IMs that aren’t publicly posted. The people who whine are the traders who feel gaining referrals is a competition with the next trader. They view referral trading as a business. I mean is it a contest to see who can have the most completed trades? This isn't a business..
Aren’t we all here to make money or get a cool gift? As a mature adult (my wife would beg to differ), I find it kind of ugly when I see bitching and moaning about other traders. I have said it before and I'll say it again now, every post you make says something about yourself. I do not know 99% of the traders on this forum. Never met them face to face and a lot of them I never talked to on the phone. However, I can read some posts by traders on certain subjects that will tell me something about there personality. Trust me I have read posts and reply comments from some traders on this forum, that I could swear they came from a child.
“This trader stole my trade thread almost word for word”. Well how do you know they stole your trade thread? You must have gone in and look at there trade thread. “This trader shouldn’t be allowed to have a sticky thread”. How do you know they shouldn’t be allowed to have sticky?
Some FLR traders need to tend to there own business and leave the policing to the staff. The only thing you can control is yourself. Why worry about what another trader is doing or what another trader has in there threads. This isn’t a competition. This isn't a business. Stop trying to be a cop. Stop the belly aching, moaning ,bitching, and whining. Shut up and make money….

Of course this is just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Well I agree with you about the whining, it does seem to be getting worse lately. I really think a lot of it has to do with new people coming in here thinking they can make ship loads of money in a short amount of time. That just isn't so, especially when first starting out.

I do not agree with the fact that this isn't a business. I have to treat it as a business or I would not spend the time, money and effort that it takes to be successful. Treating it as a business also puts me into business mode which helps me dot all my i's and cross all my t's. I mean I am nice to just about everyone and treat people kindly, business or not, but when it comes to setting up a trade, I find if I don't think business like then I forget to to put important details in the trade. Details that could come back and bite me in the back end.

I know that is probably just me and the way that I work, but I know what works for me and what doesn't. Of course I am not one of those that complains about title stealing or whatnot. I do fall into the category of just doing my thing, to the best of my abilities and having fun in the meantime.

Bill, I agree with you on several points. Every one should stop complaining and focus on doing something to improve themselves, or the forum over all.

The mods do a great job at moderating this forum that's why its so successful.

Now, enough with the Whine, off to get some cheese ;)

Hey, I totally agree, I use to love to post and feel like I helped someone out. But lately, I look and don't want to even get involved. I have a couple of great friends at FLR. If I have a complaint, I don't post it in a forum or make a thread.. I just keep it between my friends and myself~~ We just encourage each other and on we go!!! If you can't say something nice, don't say it all!!!!!!!!! AND DEFINATELY DON'T AIRE YOUR DIRTY LAUNDRY IN PUBLIC~~~~~~

I really love reading your blog and I am so lucky I chose you as one of my first trades. You are such a positive and knowledgeable trader.

I get so frustrated reading all the negative stuff. It does not belong here.

You know I had a trader tell me that my thread was not flashy enough and I would be getting more trades if I changed it. I actually like my thread it is simple and to the point as it should be. So hmph!

Good for you Daisy08

How flashy a trade thread is doesn't make or break a trader. It is how a trader conducts themselves that will make or break a trader.

100% AGREE. There are plenty of referrals to go around. We should be helping each other out. Its just good business. You dont want a newbie coming in here seeing all this bickering between traders. First impression is everything.
