C ... is for the third Key to success

Posted 08-01-2008 at 05:50 PM by marbleeye
There are several qualities that a trader must practice to have success working freebie sites. In my blog last week I talked about the importance of being organized. This week’s key to success is Communications.

A trader must be able to effectively communicate with several different parties. Communications is essential in many factors of life. For example, communications is the most important factor in a relationship. You must be able to communicate with your friends, spouses, and other family members to have a good relationship. In referral trading communications plays an important role as well.

Trader correspondence: When two traders are conducting a trade there must be communications between both parties to have a successful trade. You should always update your trade partner where you are at with the trade. Whether the trade is a green 4 green or a green for pay trade, both parties involved with the trade need to stay in communications with each other Below is how I feel a trade and the communications between the two traders should go.

For the Referrals (traders going green):

1. Once you find a trader to work with and you have a site you want to go green on. Inform the trader to setup the trade in the trade manager. (No CC sites can not be setup in the trade manager) Also ask for the referral link if one has not been provided.
2. After the trade is created. Read the terms of the trade by clicking on the trade id for the trade.
3. If there are any questions in regards to the terms of the trade communicate these concerns or questions to the other trader before you confirm the trade.
4. Confirm the trade in the trade manager.
5. Communicate with the trader you are going green for what email address you are using to register on the freesite.
6. Register on the freesite using the referral link provided and sign up for an offer of interest.
7. If you are having any issues with the site or offers you should communicate back to the person you are trading with. So you both can get these issues straight.
8. Once you have completed your offers communicate back with the other trader and inform them that you completed the offers to go green. Inform them at this time if you are green. If you have not received credit for an offer due to crediting time or you just have not received credit yet you need to communicate these details.
9. If you are green inform the other trader of your paypal address.
10. If you are not green it is up to you to check your status on the freesite and communicate back to the other trader at least every other day. This is just common courtesy. If you can not check your status or log on to the forum for a lengthy period, communicate this with the other trader.
11. If you are green and have communicated back to the other trader and there is no response from the trader, check the Trader Away status forum to see if the trader posted that they will be out. Check the traders profile and see when the last time the trader was active. Also see if the trader may be banned from the forum. If 3 days have gone by and still no word from the other trader contact a moderator and ask them for some guidance. Do not post in Lunch Theft before discussing the situation with a moderator.[/b]

For the Referee (trader providing the referral link)

1. When you have a trader willing to be your referral on a particular site, set up the trade in the Trade manager.
2. If there is time stipulations for the trade place them in the comments section when creating the trade. Be reasonable with the time stipulations.
3. Inform the referral that you have created a trade in the trade manager and have them read the trade terms and confirm the trade. If you are working with a new member, teach them how the trade manager works.
4. Once the trade is confirmed provide the referral with your referral link if you haven’t already. Ask the referral to provide you with the email address that they will be using to register on the freesite.
5. Monitor your freebie site to verify if the referral has signed up.
6. If your referral has not signed up on the freebie site within any time frame that was set within the trade terms, send the referral a private message asking them of there status. It will also be a good idea to type out in the private message: if they do not respond back by a certain date that the trade will be cancelled. Again make the time frame to respond reasonable. Make sure you keep a copy of this private message for your records.
7. If the referral has signed up but they are not green and have not communicated back to you within any time frame that was stipulated in the trade terms, send a private message to the referral. In this private message ask them to communicate there status, It will also be a good idea to type out if they do not respond back by a certain date that the trade will be cancelled. Again make the time frame to respond reasonable.
8. If the referral has signed up but has not greened and they have communicated back to you, make a note of the situation. Ask the referral to stay in contact with you at least every other day. Inform them if they do not communicate that you have every right to cancel the trade. This is really set by the two traders involved and the situation at hand. If the offer’s credit time is 30 days, then it may not be necessary for communications that often.
9. If the referral has signed up and gone green but has not communicated back to you, sent a private message to the referral and inform them that they are green. They may not know that they are green.
10. If the referral has signed up and gone green and has communicated back to you that they are green, get there paypal address and pay them if you are paying on green.
11. If you are paying on approval, and you have referrals that are green and awaiting payment, it is up to you to communicate to them your status with the site. Communications should be once every other day.
12. If you are going to be unavailable to check the forum or your freesites, you will want to contact a moderator so they can post in Traders Away Forum that you will be away. It is also a good idea to send a private message to all your referrals that you have pending trades with and inform them of this.[/b]

Forum Correspondence: The ability to communicate with your trading partner is most important. However it shouldn’t stop there. You should know how to communicate with the other users on the forum. You should know where to post certain topics. All communications on the forum should be respectful and courteous to the other traders. You should not use obsessive vulgarity within your posts. If there is a debate within a post it is up to the members involved to be civil when expressing there views. Remember when you create a thread or post a reply, every user on the forum can read your comments. So your posts and what you say within your posts says a lot about you.

Site Correspondence: There are occasions when a trader needs to communicate with a site owner or site support representative. All freebie sites have several ways to get in contact with them. Traders can communicate with sites via support tickets, email, instant messaging, forum posts or private messages if the site is active on the forum. It is very important to be respectful when communicating with a freebie site’s support staff. You may have a situation that is has you frustrated or down right mad, but taking your anger out on the freebie site is not a proactive way to resolve the situation. Always be polite and professional when communicating with a freebie site. You can still be respectful and express your frustration. The site’s support will be more willing to work with a trader to resolve an issue if the communications stay on an even keel. Let me say this though, how you communicate is a two way street. So, a site’s support staff should also be polite and professional in there correspondence with a user. To many times I have gotten rude replies to simple questions I have asked. Every time this has happened it isn’t long before that site goes belly up.

Forum Staff Correspondence: There will be times when you need to communicate with a forum staff member. You can find the forum administrators and moderators in the Introduction & Welcomes sub-forum. You can contact the forum staff by private message to ask for assistance or guidance. If they do not reply back right away, do not badger them with duplicate messages. Moderators and Administrators are usually very busy. They will get back to you as soon as they can. When corresponding with the forum staff, keep your communications respectful and professional.

Offer Corespondence: There may be times when you will need to communicate with an offer company’s service representative. Again, be polite and professional. You may have a situation that has you frustrated and annoyed, but the more professional you are the more likely the customer service rep will help you resolve the situation.

So you can see there is a lot of communications involved when working freebie sites. The more ways you have to communicate and how you communicate can make a difference in your success
