The dreaded low iTrader score
Hello everyone, I've been here on the forum for about a week now, I've been checking out the blogs here also and always wanted to write one, but never knew what to write about. And then it hit me...
I see a lot of post in the forums about scammers, and how to weed them out, and mostly all of the trades refer to the iTrader rating. A lot of them go something like "be weary of a low iTrader score".
But what I want to address is, what about the people with low iTrader scores who aren't scammers? How do you find out who they are?
I know you guys might be saying "well you haven't even been here that long, how can you give any advice on this subject?"
Although I'm new to the Lunch Room, I'm no stranger to the internet, internet marketing, freebie sites, or making money online. So my first little piece of advice is not to simply judge book by it's cover, but to go just a little bit deeper.
Now I'm not saying one thing or another about low iTrader scores, you can use your own judgement, but I just want to explain my situation, and what I'm trying to establish here.
Like I said, I'm new to the forum, but I'm no stranger to making money online, and I really have no interest in completing offers. Not being cocky or disrespectful to all of the great mentors and moderators here at FLR, but for a few reasons.
1. I've been online for a long time before I found this forum, and a lot of the good offers, somewhere along the line, I've done them already, not for an IFW, but just because I seen the ad somewhere and joined. Columbia House, Google, Yahoo, Blockbuster, alot of the credit check things, etc, and besides these, the other trias get kind of pricey on top of the fact that I know I don't want or need these things.
2. I've done a few IFW's before. (before i found FLR or even new what freebie trading was, just because I wanted the prize, but that was a few years ago.) And I already have a pretty good idea how they work.
3. And finally. I have a number of websites online right now that I make money from already. I've been online making money for some time now, and I recognize the money making potential of buying greens as opposed to being paid for them. Not that getting paid to go green isn't sweet, but it's just that I know I can do this. I've also studied the Project Payday guide on and off for about a year before I even tried this anyway. I wasn't sure if it was legal or not.
But anyway, those are just a few example of why my, and someone else's iTrader score might be low. But you can't tell me I can't pay someone $50 to make $100 because of this. So I just want to say don't condemn traders because of their iTrader score alone. A lot of the "scammer" tutorials also say this and to look for other things as well, like number of trades and wether or not that person has been active at FLR or not, and thing like this.
I myself personally am trying to get referrals from other places besides the FLR like MySpace and search engines. I have a MySpace and a website designed to get people to the FLR and show them the wonderful world freebie trading, but once they get here, and see the tutorials about low iTrader scores, they might get discouraged being as though I'm just starting here so I'm trying to do the other thing that the tutorials say and be active, and provide help and I hope this will make people look past my iTrader and trade with me.
I'm PayPal verified already, soon to be FLR verified as soon as I make my first trade, and I've already put a lot of work into this, way to much for me to be trying to scam anyone. (website, myspace, mascot) Besides, the couple of bucks that you scam before you get reported is nothing compared to what you could make if you did it right and played fair.
Anyway I just wanted to say my little bit here, and hope that some of you are feeling me. If anyone want to contact me about alternative ways to get referrals please do I'm all ears. Thx for listening.

I get ya. We all have to have a low rating at some point. But there are some other tell tale signs of scammer too. Like I'm always wearing if someone has a trade thread and a bunch of sites they want you to green on but they have a rating of like 2. How did they get all those sites??? Hmmmm
Maybe you might want to try trading green4green. It's a great way to build your rating. And most traders will be in the same boat as you..trust me!
Happy trading!Posted 01-04-2009 at 07:09 PM by tinybajan621

I agree that you can't go be the It score. I trade with new members all the time that have 0. I really just go mostly by my feelings, if a person just dosn't seem "right" they usually aren't . I have dodged a few scammers because I had a bad feeling about them. Good Post, hope it gets a lot of readers.
