Guidelines for Evaluating Sites for Green for Green Trades.
There are several factors to look at when evaluating sites for green for green (g4g) trades. You need to consider how much the site pays per referral (for the lowest number of referrals to qualify for cash out), the offer weights and the number of credits needed to green the site. Often, these correlate with each other.
The amount the site pays out per referral (ref) can be calculated by dividing the lowest paypal prize by the number of refs required to get that prize. If the site pays $120 for 3 refs then the payout per ref is $120/3 which is $40 per ref.
You should also consider offer weight. If possible, try to identify the same offer on both sites and compare the credit weights. If the offer has the same credit weight on both sites, then the sites are comparable with regard to this factor. If the offer is ½ credit on 1 site but ¼ credit on the other, the sites may not be equal.
Finally, always look at the number of credits needed to green. Generally, you should stick to sites where this number is equal: 1 credit sites for 1 credit sites. Although it may seem mathematically correct, three 1 credit sites for one 3 credit site may not be a good trade. If you have ever tackled a 3 credit site you know why.
Do you have to stick with this guideline? Of course not. You may decide to do a trade that may seem unequal in the other person’s favor because you need one last green on your site. So you may be willing to complete 4 offers on their site and they only complete 2 on yours. However, I just want you to be aware of the factors to consider when making a trade.
How soon should I begin doing green 4 green trades?
It is of course up to you. I would suggest doing green for green trades with your 3rd or 4th trade. Start with a site that only requires a few refs, like 3 or less. Also start with sites that are generally easy to green on. You can post in the referral for referral section the site you are seeking refs for. If you want to get aggressive, do your homework and list what sites you are interested in doing that you have already evaluated.
Green 4 Green Etiquette
It is a general rule of thumb that the person with the lower TR goes first. Having done at least 10 green for green trades, I am not totally sold on this idea. These are things that you need to discuss up front as part of the trade agreement. I would suggest that you start together. That’s just my opinion. You decide for yourself.
Whatever you decide, make sure it is documented in the trade manager. Communication is the key. Also communicate about offers. I don’t think it is against any rules to ask your fellow trader how long does it generally take the offer that they are considering to credit. This information is important to know upfront. You may be very disappointed if you find that your offer credits instantly and theirs takes a few weeks. Now mind you, instant is not instant anymore and even instant offers can take a few weeks. I am speaking of offers that are advertised to take longer. If you know the offer you are doing is going to take a week to credit, say so upfront.
Green for Green trades are one of the best ways to start cashing out on sites without paying for referrals and to make your offers count. Trust me, you can’t do green 4 green trades forever so you will be paying for refs soon enough. But take this time to maximize your profits.
