Police say that a Sulphur, Louisiana, woman’s careless mistake landed her and her fiancé in jail and made the couple the topic of headlines around the world.
Lake Charles Police say that it all started the night of March 27 on a routine traffic stop. The man who was stopped did not own the car.
In an attempt to locate the car’s owner the officer dialed her number on his cell phone, but got no answer.
After letting the man go, the car’s owner, identified as 33-year-old Jill Foreman, returned the missed call in the mistaken belief that it was her drug dealer.
Playing along, the officer agreed to sell her $150 worth of crack cocaine.
When Foreman and her fiancé, identified as 47-year-old Larry Reick, came to buy the stuff, they were arrested.
Sergeant Mark Kraus says that this is another one for the dumb criminal file.

It amazes me how stupid some of these people are. BUT I guess it shouldn't .... they are pretty stupid to be committing the crime to begin with!!

The stupidest local criminal that I have seen around here is the guy that broke into a house.. robbed the place... smashed his car trying to get away... and got picked up by the cops HITCH HIKING down the road!!!

Haha. Here in Atlanta a couple of days ago a guy robbed a bank and used a cab to get away - actually had the cabby take him home. Of course the cabby turned him in and he was arrested.

I worked in a store that got robbed one day - they were pretty slick actually, none of us (except the cashier) knew it was happening & one employee even said something like "thanks, come again" and held the door when they left...but they were arrested right away while WAITING AT A BUS STOP down the street!

Baton Rouge, LA---A man was presented before the probation court in order to finalize his probation arrangements. The judge handling the case asked the defendent if he ever had any contact with any of the jury members. The man replied that he did.
"Which one?" the Judge asked.
"The guy I robbed!" he responded!

Hey--at least he was an honest dumb crook!
