Glossary of Trading Terms

advertiser - Company who pays an affiliate to market their products using freebie sites.

affiliate - Serves as a middleman between advertising companies and freebie sites.

approval - Refers to someone completing all site requirements, and approved to claim their final Prize.

avatar - Small graphic that represents you on the forum.

banned - A temporary ban for spamming means you cannot use the FLR forum for a short time, usually a few days. A permanent ban means you can never use the FLR forum again.

buyer - The one who pays cash for a referral.

bump - to cause your thread to rise to the top of the list, either by posting "I'm bumping up" or by answering a question

cashout - refers to receiving your grand prize or cash from a site

cc - credit card required; no cc is no credit card required

clear cache or clear cookies - Mainly refers to erasing old cookies, so the wrong site does not receive credit when you do an offer.

conga line - Similar to the chain letter idea. You sign up at the bottom. Eventually you get to the top of the list and stay there till you get a set number of referrals.

cookie - A small bit of electronic tracking information stored on your computer. A site cookie is stored when you log into a site and click on the offer page. An offer cookie is stored after you are redirected to a specific offer page. Both cookies help you receive credit for doing the offer.

crediting - The process of getting your completed offer credited to your account on the freebie site.

diy site - Do It Yourself or Points site. Instead of getting referrals, you can do all the offers yourself.

email headers - show how an email was routed to you

evergreen - A term used on some repeatable sites, meaning that you keep your own green status forever. Same as forever green.

FLR - Free Lunch Room forum

forever green - A term used on some repeatable sites, meaning that you keep your own green status forever. Same as evergreen.

free green - Sometimes a network will grant you green status on a site without requiring you to do an offer yourself. Then all you have to do is get referrals.

freebie site - Any online marketing site that will give you free cash, products, or gifts for obtaining referrals who try advertising offers. They provide companies with a method of advertising and getting their products to customers.

G4G - green for green (trading sites with someone)

green - Refers to someone completing the basic Offer Requirements for a specific freebie site. People will say you have gone green, or given them a green.

green for green trade - Also known as G4G, ref 4 ref, or site 4 site. This is when you do someone else's site and they do yours. No money has to change hands. It's a good idea to trade sites this way. If you are paid cash to be a ref, you only make half the ref value. If you trade sites, you eventually receive full referral value.

guaranteed crediting - Sometimes a freebie network will guarantee that your MCR will be approved as part of a special monthly promotion.

hijacking - contacting someone who replied to someone else's trading thread. This is against the forum rules.

IFW - Incentivized Freebie Site, ie you work on site for prizes

IP - Internet Protocol address, tells freebie sites where you are

jump the fence - Start seeking referrals instead of just doing sites for cash.

locked thread - means nobody can reply to the thread. Your trading thread can be temporarily locked if you violate a rule, for example if you bump it too many times.

LTCO - Looking To Complete Offers, a section of the FLR forum

MCR - Manual Credit Request. You sign into your freebie site and look for the MCR area. Then ask for your missing credit on the offer you did.

Mentor - trusted teacher, advisor, counselor. A mentee would be the person receiving advice or assistance.

Mods - same as Moderators, people who regulate FLR

network - Name of the company or parent site, like Giftmonster or Zero Price Tags. Each network may offer many freebie sites, and you can sign up for each site once. Networks are rated by several agencies according to quality, customer service, and how long they have been active.

offer - The advertising for a specific product or service on the freebie site. You can only do each offer once, no matter how many freebie sites carry that offer.

Offer Requirement - The amount of offers or credits needed to qualify on a specific freebie site before you collect your own referrals. Some 1 credit sites only require 1 offer. Some 1 credit sites require 5 or more offers.

offer weight - The same offer can be worth a full credit on one site, and only half a credit on another.

OOD - Offers of Doom. A problem on Offercentric sites where the offers get very difficult for the last few refs you collect.

order - refers to ordering your grand prize from a site, which can sometimes be a separate step after approval

PFR - paying for referrals

piggyback offer - An additional trial offer that comes with the offer you want to do. Don't worry if you've already done the piggyback part before, as that will not affect the main offer. If you accept the piggyback, make sure you abide by the cancellation terms.

points site - Do It Yourself or Points site. Instead of getting referrals, you do all the offers yourself.

PM - Private Message. Click on someone's avatar to the left of their message to access their profile or send them a message.

post - forum message where you hit reply and answer

PP or PPD - Project Payday, a training program for using freebie sites

prize - The final reward you receive after completing the Offer Requirement on a freebie site and collecting all needed referrals. Most sites have a choice of prizes, and you can usually change your prize after you sign up.

red status - Refers to revoked credits on a freebie site, offers which are no longer green. If someone pays you for going green, and you revert to red, you will owe them a refund.

referral or ref - Someone who has been referred to a freebie site by another trader (who would be the referrer or sponsor member).

referral link - The signup web link which gives the Referring Party credit for the referral.

referral value - The amount each referral is worth. Take the prize value and divide by the number of referrals. So for a $400 prize based on 10 referrals, the final referral value would be $40. The amount of cash someone will pay you to be their referral is usually half of that.

repeatable - Will let you collect prizes more than once. Most repeatable sites are also evergreen. But some will make you do an offer again and re-green before you can collect more referrals.

RS - Referral Swapper forum

scamming - committing fraud, against another trader, a freebie site, a forum. Usually involves refusing to refund or obtaining money under false pretenses.

seller - The one who goes green, or becomes a referral, for cash. In a green 4 green trade, neither one is the Buyer or Seller. Both are just "traders."

site - Each freebie site in a network will have it's own website like cash.*************.com or gifts.*************.com. You can sign up for each site once.

spamming - contacting someone about trading without them initiating the contact. This is against the forum rules.

sticky - A thread or post that constantly stays at the top of your page. They are often used by moderators for important announcements. You can also pay for a sticky trading thread; it stays in the top section so that more people will see what you are advertising.

support ticket - You sign into the freebie site, look for the help or support area, and leave a message about your problem on the site.

thread - same as forum post, except you start a whole new topic

TOS - Terms of Service. These are the terms of an offer, or the fine print. Pay special attention to the cancellation method required and how long you have to cancel a membership.

TM - Trade Manager, where trades are tracked on FLR

TR - Trade Rating, shows how many trades someone has completed within a certain forum system, like the Free Lunch Room.

trade - agreement you made with another trader.

trading thread - The message thread advertising what sites you need referrals on, and what sites you want to do.

Trainn or TRAINN - Stands for Transcendental Innovations. It is a network that owns numerous freebie sites. Good for newbies, as you can go green with one offer. They have great customer service, will accept a Manual Credit Request and can help you get your missing credits.

verified by FLR - you have paid $50 to join the Verified program, and are now eligible to purchase a sticky

verified green - means you have passed an initial check and the freebie site says you appear to be ok

walk through - This is when someone stands next to you and tells you what to do for every step. A walk through is illegal, as we are NOT supposed to tell others which offers to choose.

yellow status - Means you have signed up for a site, and now have your own referral link. But you have not done the Offer Requirement.

Below Are Some Great Beginners Tips

• DO NOT use a ISP that uses a proxy such as AOL. If you are not sure about your connection you can call your Internet Service provider or click HERE to run a proxy test on your connection
• DO NOT initiate more than a couple trades at one time. Getting too many trades going can get very confusing and expensive. Find an experienced trader that will walk you thru the whole process and help you all the way thru method 1 and 2. Method 1 will earn you "some" money but method 2 is where it is at :D
• DO NOT use a reloadable or prepaid card. Only use a credit/debit card to complete offers with
• KNOW HOW to enable your browser to accept all cookies, KNOW HOW to disable any pop-up blockers, and KNOW HOW to clear all cookies before starting on completing any offers. Also, FireFox seems to be the best browser to use for completing offers
• READ all the fine print and the TOS (Terms Of Services) for each offer that you are interested in doing before completing it
• KEEP track of each offer you complete and each site you have registered for to avoid being put on hold. If complete any offer more than once or register for any site more than once your account will be placed on hold for fraud
• BEFORE completing any offers check out White/Black Offer List first and see what experiences others have had with that offer
• DO NOT give up and decide to quit. Money can be make here and we can show you how

This is a run down and picture tutorial for what you should expect. Keep in mind that each network will look a little different but the steps included will be the same.

You click your referrals link that you requested from them. You should pull up a page that looks like this

Now, you're all set up, and you click your referrals link that you requested from them. You should pull up a page that looks like this




So, Step One, you pick out your prize that you will work towards when you start Method 2, and then 2nd you go straight to create your new account.

Next, once you click continue you should see a page similar to this



You will fill out all of that information - correctly - so that it includes only your own information

Once you fill that out and click next you will be taken to a page that is full of offers you can choose from. Above those offers is this box.



You can pick to sort your offers how ever you like on most sites, Just remember that you will be needing to complete enough offers to have your full credit (or however much the site is worth that your doing) so say its a 1 credit site, you do 1 full credit offer, or 2 half credit offers. Some sites are set up to where you might need to do more then that - make sure you research before you start so that you know what is required of you to finish. While looking at these offers, pick out enough to do your full credit and write them down.

If you click on your status screen on the site, it will look like this.




Notice it says that you have not met your offer requirements. This is what needs to be completed to count as a green for the person you are working with.

Now, You have your list of offers you want to try. Find the Log out button. For this particular network it looks like this



Clear your cookies again, and then click the log in tab, use the email and password you created before to log back into the site.



Click on the offers tab, look at the list you made and go straight to your first offer. Open it up, complete the offer, and leave the confirmation page up 10 minutes or so. Close out that page, and go to your second offer (if you need to complete 2 offers)

Once your offers have credited, you can go back and click on your status tab, and when they are completed your screen will look like this!



Now thats its finished, just message your trader that you are done!

Making sure your PC is running well before doing offers!
Step 1. Run Spyware Terminator. You can Download it HERE! CLICK!
Make sure after you run it to exit out of the Program.
Step 2. Run Advanced SystemCare. You can download that Here! CLICK!
Then Disable or Exit the program.
Step 3. Check your system to if it it needs Defragmentation.
Go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disc Defragmenter.
