Tutorial For Newbies: Starting Out in the Process
If anyone has extra comments or corrections, please reply!
Welcome to My Newbie Tutorial! Follow these steps and you will go green and start making some great $$$$!! ![]() ![]() Step 1: Making sure You are Ready to Start Going Green Before you start working with traders to get paid for a green, there are a few things you need to prepare in advance: 1. Make sure you go through the Project Payday tutorial. It has some valuable information, and explains how this whole process works! However, there are some discrepancies that are pointed out in some of the replies here. Quote:
2. If you are doing credit card offers, you must use a standard credit or debit card. Prepaid cards do not work on the offer sites, no matter what. 3. Make sure you understand what it means to go “green.” On each IFV, you must complete enough offers to get the required points. Once you are green, you can start getting referrals yourself! 4. IMPORTANT!!!! If you use AOL or Earthlink for your Internet provider, none of this will work. They use proxy servers, meaning that you share an IP address with several others. The offer sites will not accept offers for duplicate IP addresses. Keep in mind that you should only log into the sites from one place, preferably at home, since your work IP address is also shared by many people. 5. Just do one trade at a time from start to finish. As you are completing offers, make notes and keep track of the terms of service for each offer. You can only do an offer once, and you may see the same offer on another site. Step 2: Look at the Tutorials section and the Lunch Packing Assistance section in the FLR. It is jam-packed with valuable information from experienced traders! Step 3: Are you ready to start making money for completing offers? Here is what you need to do: 1. Take a look at the Paying for Referrals Section in the FLR. The traders here have completed many sites, and are willing to pay you for “going green.” There are well over 200 pages here! The most active threads will be on the first 5 pages or so. Take a look around, read their trade threads, and then choose one that you think might work for you. 2. When you have contacted a trader, they will set up a trade for you. You will find this in the trade manager. To confirm a trade, go to the trade manager, then confirm trade. You will see the trade set up with terms, and you can accept or reject the trade there. SPECIAL NOTES: No credit card offers are not done in the trade manager, just through private messages. This is the ONLY time you would not use the FLR trade manager. If a trader wants to set up a trade for a credit card site via email or just PM, I recommend that you do not do it. All CREDIT CARD sites should really be set up in trade manager. I got scammed as a newbie by someone offering the trade only via email, and it turned out to be a scam IFV site. I paid $50 for offers and never got credit!!! 3. Once you have accepted the trade, you are ready to start completing offers! Make sure you follow the referral link given to you by your trader, or you won’t get paid. Referral links will end with a ref=XXX (number). Step 4. follow the steps to set up your browser so that offers will easily credit for you: 1. Turn off all of your popup blockers! In Firefox: Tools > Options > Content > Uncheck "Block Pop Up Windows" In Explorer: Tools > Internet Options > Pop Up Blocker > Turn off Check to make sure you don’t have additional popup blockers in extra toolbars. Google and Yahoo toolbars also have popup blockers! 2. Make sure that it's set to accept all cookies. In Firefox: Tools > Options > Privacy > Check "Accept cookies from sites" Explorer: Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Move slider to accept all cookies 3. Clear cookies and all private data. In Firefox: Tools > Options > Privacy > Select "Clear Now" under the Private Data category and when the menu comes up to select what you want to clear and make sure "Cookies" and "Cache" are selected. Explorer: Tools> Internet Options> Delete Temporary Internet files (this could take some time if you have a lot in there. Be patient!) Step 5: Go to your trading partner’s referral link, sign up, and start completing offers. Click on the referral link and sign up. Choose an offer and click on it. Let the page load completely and read about the offer. If you don't like it, close it. If you like it, complete the requirements and leave the landing page open for a while, until you get a confirmation email. If it's a multi-credit site and you have to complete another offer, log out and start again from the first step. Step 6: be patient and wait for you offers to credit! If you did everything as directed, you should get credit within an hour or 1-3 days. Keep in touch with your trading partner if it takes longer, just login to the site and check periodically. Once you go green, contact your trading partner! They will pay you and you can then complete the trade! To do this, go to the trading manager, click complete trade, and click received. Your trader will so the same. Once you have both clicked received, you can leave feedback! Go to trade manager, completed trades, then the info link. You will se a feedback area. You are the seller, then choose positive, and type away! After you have several sites completed, you can start doing green4green trades and paying for referrals yourself. STAY GREEN: If you choose to cancel an order, wait until 1-2 days before the trial expires to do it, or you will go red. Only choose offers you are truly interested in, and give them all a fair shake! I got a lot of nice Christmas gifts this year by completing some great offers! Sometimes, you will go red and be asked to email a photo ID. Don’t panic, it just means that the sponsor needs more verification. In most cases, the red is reversed immediately when you do so. Quote:

queenie1959,
Thanks for the great tutorial. I hope you don't mind if I add a couple suggestions. I'm a relative newbie and am waiting on MCRs at three sites because I didn't do what I'm about to suggest. 1. Log-out and clear cookies and cache after registering with a site as well as between offers. Do this even if you've only looked at an offer and decided not to complete it. Get those cookies outta there before you continue. 2. Before you login again, refresh your browser page. ASharpEdge taught me this and it has made a big difference in crediting. I don't know why, but it has. All instant offers have credited instantly since I've taken these steps. Before that they could take hours, or days, or not credit at all. This is not to say that credit delays won't still occur but the likelihood seems to be greatly diminished. Thanks again for the great tutorial! |

Something that troubles me is saying to go through the full project payday info- there are numerous errors in this information that will cause a new person to go red if they follow the advice- No offense to project payday, but their information is just not accurate- take everything you read there with a grain of salt- Also, despite anyone's advice, some offers will take up to weeks to credit- Also, you do not need to wait until you are green to use your referral link to get referrals- you only need to be green if you want to cash out- If you are waiting on a green to credit and it is taking time, you can work on more than one trade- i wouldnt suggest more than 3 sites at once- waiting on one could take a long time. when looking in the paying for referrals section, just being in there doesnt guarantee anything about the trader- researching the person is incredibly important- dont assume what they tell you is true.

Visit Lunch Theft on a regular basis. It's a good source for scammer info.

Here are to 2 best kept secrets.
1. Stop clearing cookies in between offers. The only time you should really clear them is before you start a site. Then just do the site. You should not login find offers you want to do. Logout clear cookies. Do the credit dance. Remove cache then log back in clear cookies and do the offer. Clear them once time just before you start the site and there should be no issues. 2. If an offer is instant leave the page open for a little bit and refresh the site to see if credit did in fact go through. If it did not within about 10 minutes. Then you should refresh that offer confirmation page and let it sit for about 1-2 minutes. If an offer is not instant. Let it sit for about 2-3 minutes and then refresh the page. Doing this process helps make sure that the crediting system does in fact go through. You can do this a couple more times to help get a better crediting chance. WARNING: Sometimes the offer will then credit twice. Any site owner can tell it is just a simple double crediting mistake that does happen sometimes. If you ever have any issues which I doubt you would. You are more than welcome to send them over to me and I will talk to them about it.
