Of course those of us with reasonable sensibilities would prefer be wasted and used simultaneously, but if you had to pick one...

Stopped doing "wasted" decades back...wasn't worth it in the long run and I manage to get used, whether I want to or not although NOT is preferred...so how 'bout a simple...neither...and seeking alternatives...leaving getting wasted to the young...lol!

I am a user and a manipulator. So are all of you.

My observation is that from the moment we are born, we begin using people and the art of manipulation... we are helpless as babies and must manipulate those around us to get whatever we want.

In my opinion there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, I consider it one of the most basic and essential social skills we all must learn. We continue to refine this fundamental skill all of our lives. Every single one of us. Actually the primary focus of life is pretty much to manipulate all of our environment, including the people in it, as our ability to get anything we want or need depends on it. Our sense of satisfaction with life is directly related to our feelings of empowerment and success with our manipulative efforts. Life really is a quest for power at a very basic level and from the very beginning, and universally.

There is nothing wrong with using and manipulating people. What makes it wrong is how it's done and why. What's wrong is having no regard for the interests of others.... using people for your own ends and not caring how it affects them or others... it's not being used that bothers us, it's the greed or malice with which it's done that is offensive.

If you need a friend to hang with... use me!
If you need help with something... use me!
If you want to have hot and kinky... ok,you get the idea...

All human relationships are characterized by manipulative intentions from both parties. Even something as simple as asking someone a question is an attempt to manipulate them into giving you an answer. You may find it distasteful to think of it that way, but it is a fact, and one that I wish were more widely recognized and understood because without this understanding our egos tend to delight in an imaginary gulf between "users" and our morally righteous selves.

So... my position is that intending to manipulate someone or using them is not necessarily immoral, unethical or wrong in any way necessarily, but instead is a necessary element of corporeal existence without which continued survival would not be possible. Willingness to benefit at another's expense is the real immorality, not manipulation per se... and we all have such willingness, at least to an extent. Failure to recognize such willingness within ourselves, and to cultivate a more caring and compassionate attitude towards others than we currently have is spiritual stagnation... but I digress...

Getting used can be grand and glorious... please use me!!! (right after I get wasted)
