Awhile back I started a thread about what guests to the site are allowed to see when they visit FLR. My main peeve was that guests are not allowed to see. "The trading section."

As we all know the trading section is where the money is, and "money" is the main motivation for anyone to join FLR. So why keep it hidden from prospective new members? Makes no sense to me whatsoever.

To my disappointment there were very few posts. Also there were no posts from the hierarchy (mods or administrators) here. But to my delight as can always be expected, my good friend Monksmom chimed in with her welcomed insights

Well I'm not one to beat a dead horse unless it pisses me off or owes me money. So I will move on to my newest rant but be aware that it also pertains to my previous rant as well. Oh yeah...I'm drunk again! WTF did you expect?

OK...FLR gives us a link to refer new users, and even offers to pay us for each referral that meets certain criteria.

We can promote freebie trading through blogs, websites, twitter, myspace, facebook, squidoo, hubpages, wordpress, wet paint, craigslist, or any other form of online media that you are creative enough to think of.

Well we can all promote our link all over the web, explaining how FLR is a great place to trade freebies and make some extra cash. My problem is that everyone that clicks that link will not see where the money is....ie "paying for referrals"

So what incentive do they really have to sign up to FLR under our link? There is no immediate sense of urgency because they only have access to tutorials and informational threads. No need to sign up and contact a trader. No reason to sign up NOW!

They don't realize that there is a trading section where they can hook up with an experienced trader and make 30 or 40 bucks within the next hour. Which by the way is probably the whole reason why they clicked the link to begin with. To make money.

Well that is just a preamble to my latest rant that is in the making. It also gives me some release from my previous thread that received very little attention.

Would appreciate some responses from the higher up people. Glad, Administrator.

lol...Oh, P...I'd have to say you found Sue's rum pots...again! :)

Try going to Lois's profile and hitting the contact info...am sure she's still reading emails:)

Now, there's a plethora of other options available without another reengineering...we all have access and are capable of pulling screen shots, so...those can easily be posted amongst all that other advertising. Yes? THAT shows the "money" and is far more honest than our random Trophy Case, where entries are allowed for ALL payouts, not just the ones pulled through flr...meaning a more honest reflection, yes? :) Besides, most of the higher end traders are already adding keywords to their trophy entries, thus...are accessible through the web...yes? :)

FLR IS a great place to trade and make money...it's a freebie forum, that's what it's supposed to do! lol...so go index those payouts, publish your link and TELL them they can make $30-40 today, with you:) lol...what needs to stop happening is....new folks coming into this forum and being redirected by their traders to go elsewhere...that is far more of an issue then folks not being able to see "the money"...don't you think? :)

Mom I had a feeling you would be the first to reply and was so looking forward to it. You have also brought up a couple of points that were actually going to be the subject of my next rant....so saves me the trouble of starting a new thread.

I do not think that it would take re-engineering. It should be a simple task of un-engineering or removing the script that blocks someones ability to see the whole forum.

As far as pulling a screen shot...Well I can photoshop a screenshot that proves that I made $42,000,000 in two days and it was transferred from the national bank of Nigeria.

I can create a few pages and rank very high in Google for some fairly competetive keywords.....but before I put in the effort I need to know that the keywords are profitable.

Example: I am advertising freebie trading as a way to make some extra money online. I include my referral link to FLR on my page.

Joe Blow comes along and reads my very intelligent and well articulated description of how anyone can make some extra cash at the Free Lunch Room by getting paid to be a referral on someones incentivized freebie wesite.

Joe is convinced and why shouldn't he be....we all know that this is for real. Joe clicks my link to FLR and decides to take a peek before signing up. Well after looking over the entire forum (the part he is only allowed to see) Joe say's to himself "That place has some useful information....but where the hell do I make money at?.....I think that pd guy was fulla shit....Oh well let's go check out that online survey site I have been hearing about"

I can fake some screenshots and stuff the trophy room plumb full of keywords I am trying to rank for....I can also use a proxy and sign up as a new member and start a trade thread asking for someone to sign up under my affiliate link at cashcrate or some work at home survey site.

What I cannot do is explain to someone that freebie trading is a realistic way to make extra cash online and refer them to FLR to prove it....Because unless they sign up they cannot see the place where the damn money is at.

Another point I wanna make stems from the fact that I ain't been around because I've been doing some affiliate marketing. This involves alot of factors like choosing a product, keyword research, and checking your potential competition.

In several of my endeavors the main competition has been forum posts....That's right forum posts can rank #1 in google for specific keywords.

Now everyone here has been talking about getting more traffic to flr....lots of tips on how to promote. But since your trade thread is blocked from being indexed by google and showing up in the serp's...FLR is missing out on tons of traffic that could be provided by organic searches that your thread may rank for.

Besides....I would rather promote my trade thread online and hope that someone would trade with me due to familiarity rather than promoting a referral link to flr where the potential trader can sign up and trade with anyone.

Boy pdean you head the nail on the head with this one!!!! And yes your ranting is what FLR needs and hopefully Glad and ADMIN will see what you are saying and understand the point.

Hopefully soon the trade threads will be see by all newcomers.

I enjoy pd's posts and mom's responses. I also agree with pd on this one. Why would joe blow from across the country decide to sign up if he cannot take a look-see? I, for one like to scope things out before I sign up for anything. Otherwise a person signs up for a ton of crap that they will never use. On top of that you have to REMEMBER what you signed up for and that is a pain in the a**.

I also agree that it stinks that yes, you are able to refer people to FLR but that person doesn't necessarily trade with you but very possibly chooses to work with someone else.

So really, where is the incentive for us to refer people? Yes, it would help grow FLR and that in itself is terrific. But it doesn't help the individual trader, for the most part does it?

Okay, since I totally confused myself now and am having trouble putting my mish-mash thoughts in to words I will be done.
