Upgrading to Firefox 3.5 (and also resetting everything/removing all cookies/etc..) seems to have fixed the search error I was getting. The search works fine now.

The chat still does the exact same thing. A single screen shot won't detail what happens so here's a description:

1) I click on the chat link.
2) The page loads up and displays the 3 usual lines of loading (loading settings, loading main chat window, starting chat system) to 100%, but before the 3rd line reaches 100% the blue chat background image appears.
3) Then, that's it... I sit there and see the blue empty chatroom background while my status bar continues to say "Tranferring data from www.freelunchroom.com" for as long as I will leave it open.

This is exactly what happened a few months back (or maybe sometime last year) when there was a known issue with the chat room. I forget what was wrong at that time, but the chain of events are exactly the same.

Yup we're aware of the chat issue as I mentioned above. Glad your search is working!

Read the third paragraph of my first response (second post in this thread). What may make it easier for you next time is to create a thread for each separate issue.

Oh I see what happened. The third paragraph of your first response refers to the new FLR IM chat, and you said you know about that issue.

3 or so posts above this post though, you quoted my detailed explanation of the chat room error that I've been having and said you're aware of the chat issue. This made me think you were referring to the chat room error that I explained in detail (me not being able to get into the chat room at all because all that loads is the blue background). The details you quoted me on were talking about the chat room - not the new IM chat.

Right, so there are two separate issues and I'm sorry I wasn't clear. You not being able to get into the public chatroom, that's your issue. The Instant Messenger not working in the public chatroom is our issue and we're fixing that. To avoid confusion on your end you should create separate threads for separate issues.

Ok I will do that from now on. I'm going to hold off and see what happens when the IM issue on the chat page is fixed because, for some reason, I have this funny feeling that my chatroom issue will also be resolved when that happens because nothing else seems to be able to explain it. I definitely have tried everything you suggested plus several other things such as removing and reinstalling flash/active X, tried downgrading to older versions of flash, tried experimenting with image/java/javascript/etc settings (yes I know a lot of that should not matter but I still tried), and other various settings changes on Firefox as well as the other browsers. Normally I am one of the guys here in the Support forum handing out solutions that others never would have thought of, so that's one of the reasons this baffles me as much as it does.

At any rate - thanks for all the suggestions. I'd imagine this thread can probably be locked now since nobody else seems to share my current issue and I've run out of things to try on my end.
