When I attempt to do a search, I not only cannot find the easy access bar that used to be visible all the time but when I do make my way through the tools menu and do an advanced search I am left with nothing but a blank white page instead of any actual search results.

Anyone else noticing this?

(on a side note, something still is wrong with the chat room because it will not load on Firefox, Safari, Chrome, or Internet Explorer when I try and this is a new issue since the recent updates. This means something is different that is making it less compatible because I'm using the exact same computer I was using before with all identical settings and have no problems with any kind of flash or chats anywhere else on the web. The other evidence that something's wrong on the chat page is that when you navigate to it with an FLR IM session going in the IM bar at the bottom of the screen, the IM session vanishes. Any chance of looking further into that and returning the chat page to its former state?)

Actually, everything is coded W3C so it's compatible with every browser. This is something specific to your issue especially if all of your browsers are having problems rendering it. Firefox is obviously the best browser. Download the newest 3.5 and reset all of your browser settings to default. We would never launch a product if it had any sort of major rendering problems like that. We test the design ourselves in multiple environments and have third party verifiers do it as well. If anyone else is having major problems like this, just reset your browser settings to default as it is an issue on your end. (Could also be that you have old cookies. You'll have to do a hard reset of your cookies and cache if that's the case.)

I don't really know what you're talking about with search. All you do to get to search is go to Search under FLR Tools. The search bar you had before only provided simple keyword search but now you have access to whatever you need. If you still want the same simple keyword search functionality, just use the keyword text box.

As for the Instant Messenger running while you're in group chat, I'm aware of that. That's because the group chat also has a 1-on-1 chat mode available which conflicts with our 1-on-1. We're working on this issue.

On a side note I did just realize that I have FF 3.0.11 still so I'll upgrade to 3.5 and reset everything again to see if anything changes.

Unless your condition is happening to everyone else, the logic in this case would dictate that it is indeed an issue specific to yours. Considering that none of us in the office have your issue (and we have Windows 7 beta, Vista, XP, mac OS X, and firefox and safari on the mac systems and IE and chrome on the windows platforms), never came up when we had third parties inspect the code, and no one else has reported this issue to us, it does indeed mean that it isn't anything to do with our code. I'm not blaming anything on your system, just letting you know that it isn't anything on our end.. Do a hard reset of your cookies and cache then set your browser settings to default and let me know if it's still doing it. (Using a third party to clear your cookies will not do a hard clear, it must be done through the application's native hard reset action.)

About 3:00AM for me so I'm going to go to bed but if it's still not fixed for you, can you post a screenshot of what it's doing? If anyone else is having problems with the search results please post here. (Please refrain from any "nope no problems for me" posts so we can keep this thread short)

I can honestly say I've still been using the search function, just from the drop down instead (and prefer the advanced anyway as that's what I use)....and with no issues whatsoever - hope you fixed yours, Chicago:)

Upgrading to Firefox 3.5 (and also resetting everything/removing all cookies/etc..) seems to have fixed the search error I was getting. The search works fine now.

The chat still does the exact same thing. A single screen shot won't detail what happens so here's a description:

1) I click on the chat link.
2) The page loads up and displays the 3 usual lines of loading (loading settings, loading main chat window, starting chat system) to 100%, but before the 3rd line reaches 100% the blue chat background image appears.
3) Then, that's it... I sit there and see the blue empty chatroom background while my status bar continues to say "Tranferring data from www.freelunchroom.com" for as long as I will leave it open.

This is exactly what happened a few months back (or maybe sometime last year) when there was a known issue with the chat room. I forget what was wrong at that time, but the chain of events are exactly the same.

Excellent you got search to work...I'd be lost without access to it, to be sure!!

I have had issues like that with chat off and on since chat opened up...but maybe this is just one of the lil buggies the boys are already working on:)
