so to prove I am not a scam-artist I need to have a "detailed" profile?
how do I tell the difference from a black-listed item from the real deal?
and use the IM as little as possible?
That's what I am getting out of your post.
I'll visit my profile and see what I need to add to it and go back to the project payday tutorials.

When you are new to the site, you do not need to have a detailed profile if that makes you uncomfortable....You could just put some general info down....it is only natural for people to feel more comfortable dealing with someone they at least have a little info about....I know that I don't think someone brand new to the forum is a scammer just because they have not filled out their profile....this is actually pretty common & understandable. The important thing is to establish communication with anyone you are considering trading with....having a few exchanges allows each trade partner to get a better sense of what the other person is like.

You can tell what sites are blacklisted, because you won't be able to type their name on the forum...it will just show up as a bunch of *******.

If someone contacts you by IM without you making the first contact...this is spam ....and frequently people who attempt to make contact outside of the forum are also people who are likely to scam you. Many legitimate traders use IM to help new traders through their first trade. IM in itself is a very useful tool as long as it is used properly.

Oh, goodness....don't be discouraged at all...and no, you don't need to have a "detailed" profile, just quick snippets about yourself...why? Because those who are seriously out to scam won't waste that little bit of time...No one needs to know your life...just that you have one and you're willing to add a bit about you:)

This particular thread provides a great deal of wonderful insight for new folks who are not yet "hip" to the ways of this place, particularly what to get paid! That's why there are so many here who get hit with multi-credit sites for $20-40 when in actuality, it should be $40 or more! New folks don't need to be doing 5-8 offers on a first site, especially for that low end pay when they could be making at LEAST $20 on each trade, using anywhere from only 1-4 offers instead AND getting a tr for each trade! Benefits...are good:)

IMs are Godsends here....BUT remember, as greensuited stated, NO ONE is to contact you first and YOU are NOT to contact anyone who is not trading first:) If someone has a trade thread, by all means...im them, pm them, leave a message on their thread or visitor message...that's all good. IMs, though, are often used by scammers who are hoping to bypass the main forum/system and snag new folks who are not yet aware of what's up:)

It only becomes complicated if we make it that way, eh? Patience, realistic expectations...positive attitude...make it work...and work well! Good luck!!

I try to payout based on each site, anywhere from 60-80% of what I get paid. It makes me a little less on each trade, but gives new people or people that have been around awhile a higher payout. And everyone loves more money. Plus your best traders are repeats. So if you pay good, you get more people to trade with you, and more often.
