Got a little problem...

Someone agreed to do a trade for me. Newbie. I coached this person on making the trade. One offer was completed and then nothing. Multiple pms to the person and nothing. It has been about a week and no response. Have I been scammed in some way? Did the person get frustrated with the process and give up? I am not real sure what to do. Anyone have any advice?

Since this was a referral and not a G4G, I would not consider it a scam. He most likely gave up, so you should cancel the trade in the trade manager if he hasnt responded for quite some time, and just move on.

this happens to us all. its just part of the game. your newbie probably signed up and decided that this wasnt for them. sometimes down the road they may end up greening the site, highly doubtful but it has happened. you havent been scammed as long as you havent paid them anything. just take this in stride and keep on trading, it will probably happen again.

La, Sometimes people attempt to green and then realize that this may not be for them. Or something else has come up and they have put this on hold until they can get back to it. The best option would be to keep the trade open and see if the person comes back to the forum and remains active. If they are, you can try sending a Private Message to them to see if they are still interested in completing the trade. Really there is nothing that you can do with a partially completed referral. Sorry to inform you of the bad news. Hopefully they will come back to ya and end up greening at a later date. You can only hope.

As you get more trades you'll want to pay attention to the promos offer on a monthly basis by many of the sites, sometimes they'll offer a partial credit promo of some sort. You may be able to cash it out sometime down the road. It happens to all of us!

Referrals going MIA halfway through a trade is a common occurrence, unfortunately. If you have messaged them and they have not replied, then they have decided this is not for them, and while it would be nice if they would at least send you a reply back saying that they're no longer interested, it is unlikely that they will do so.

I would not dispute the trade just yet...you never know, they may come back and finish. The trade won't harm anything sitting in you trades awaiting completion area. I usually wait 6 months before disputing unfinished trades.

Hope this helps!

Well actually a week isn't all that long...your trade partner might have a busy work schedule, a sick family member, etc.....or they might be waiting on an offer to credit....If they haven't been on the forum during the past week to get your messages....you could try sending a message to them using the email that they used to sign up on the site....You might get a response this way. And as others have mentioned, new traders get into their first trade & realize that this is not for them.....while it would be nice if they would let you know this, most do not....but there is not a scam involved on their part & if they don't want to finish the site, then there is nothing to do but accept it & move on to traders who are interested in completing your sites.

Just know they do sometimes come back. Sometimes a month later. Rare occurance I am sure. I would not cancel the trade yet. Life does happen so give it a little longer.
