I just started asking for referrals to pay and I wondering if anyone has some hints on what are some good ways to attract people?

I see you created a thread, which is a great start. Personally, I would be trying to green some more easy sites to get your Trade Rating up as high as you can. This will give you some more experience as well as some more cash. And, it will show your referrals that you have some experience.

Next, I would add a little more to your signature. Make it PERSONAL - to you. A lot of people do a generic signature, title and thread, but works better for myself and most is to make it more towards yourself. Make it different and unique.

Next... you have a post count of 9. Post, Post, Post!!! Post around the forum, answer questions, give advice, play games, post in trophy case. The more you post, the more your signature is exposed for others to see.

Bumping, be sure you are bumping your thread as much as you are allowed to. Try bumping at different times.

If a title, thread, signature doesn't work for you, change it, edit it, tweak it. You may not get it the first time, or second, or maybe not even the third time. Keep tweaking things til you find what works for you.

Oh and last but not least, you should find yourself a great mentor, if you don't have one already. Most mentors will help you even though you don't trade with them. They can help you with these ideas as listed above, or give suggestions and tips.

You are off to a great start.

The more you post and advertise yourself, the more exposure you will get. You will start to see some responses. Doing Green for Green trades is what I recommend to people at your stage. for TR 5-10 or so...

Or I do know people who did quite well who started with only 2 TR....

So it takes time and then it seems like it rolls.

Be patient, bump your thread every day... post to it as often as you can...

You will get there. Be persistent!

well i see that you have gotten the answers that i would expect from two of the best traders that i know. there the ones that i go to when i have questions. i would only add one more thing... be patient.

this isnt a sprint...your not gonna find 50 people to do your sites right off the bat. as with any business this is going to take time to build. keep working at it...everday, and soon enough you will see the results of your hard work paying off.

lastly like kandy said...find someone that you can come to to ask questions., bounce ideas off of, or even to suggest how you can do something better. i can not stress how valuable this will be to you.

lol....your first trade was with Glad...then you ran into ksarner for two more trades...I only bring this up 'cause between the two of them as mentors, you should be able to write a book on how to find refs:)

Hence..strikes me as odd, sorry. Sounds like ya don't need a mentor but you do need someone to help you find the answers:)

Ya really wanna know the best thing to do to get refs, besides the hunnerd other things we all preach?

Be the best YOU you can be. Be REAL. Be HONEST. Don't belittle others, at least not outside in public areas - what goes on behind the scene is between you and others. Be POSITIVE - believe it or not, if you are honest, realistic, have at least a modicum of patience and work on getting your name out there....with time, they will come AND stay:)

Of course, that last part's up to you, too....decide what's better - having a zillion refs with few repeaters or having a potful of refs who do 3-6 or more trades with ya - or better yet? Feel blessed with what lies in the middle:) Set a goal. Make a plan and stick with it, adjusting only as your experience grows...and good luck!

Also, realize that most people on this site do business by drawing from people outside of the site...your not gonna build your tr or get a lot of business with people on this site by just bumping your trade thread. Advertise outside of this site...make your own website, myspace/facebook page, blog, etc. I read somewhere that 99% come outside of site! So, I hope this helps you as it will hopefully help me as I am just coming back to flr.

You have gotten some good info on refs. I do suggest you get your TR up as new people do look for experience. You probably should do some more trades as you also need more sites to offer people. As you get more trades then start a few G4G trades. This will get you some income as well as more Tr's. Good luck and just be persistent and patient.
