I just saw on CNN, where Mike Tyson's daughter, some how got her neck wrapped up in a cord that was hanging from a treadmill and nearly straggled herself. She is no on life support in critical condition. How sad, not that I am a fan of Mike Tyson, at all whatsoever, he wasnt' even at home, he was in Vegas, but this is very sad, she is only 4!! Just a household accident!

We just have to always check on our kids if they are quiet. The sad part is that kids sometiems wake up before you do and not that you aren't watching them, but they are roaming around the house by themselves! Maybe we should keep our baby montiors so that we can be alerted when our kids wake up. I don't know hte circumstances but I often wonder about kids who don't sleep with their parents wondering around the house, my daughter sleeps with me and as soon as she wakes up she says... It's good morning time!!! but if she had always been in her own room, I wonder what she would do when she woke up, what she would get into, when she gets her own room, I am going to get a baby monitor to listen, even just when she is playing and I am doing laundry or whatever. eheheheheh even when she is a teen ager, to listen in and stay one step ahead :O)

All accidents are sad, I cant' even imagine what the mom will go through.... if she was the one even "watchign" her at the time. How sad, sad, sad!

I just read an article that said she passed away this morning. =( I am not a fan of Mike Tyson either, but I feel sorry for the family. I can't imagine one of my kids dying like that.

Yea I saw on the news that she did pass away Tuesday morning. That is very sad. She was playing on the treadmill and got caught on the emergency stop release string.

When I heard this, I roammed around the house for objects that were on the floor of the den and my sons room (both places where he often plays). I picked up a few items that could be hazardess to him.....it just makes you aware & think about being more safe.

My son now sleeps with us after we moved last year. He was unfamiliar with the new house and was scared to be in his new room. Even though he SOMETIMES wakes us up, he doesn't always! And I'm not a light sleeper so I don't always hear him crawl off my bed, if he chooses not to wake me up. I tell him to always wake me up, but that doesn't help. In fact today I awoke to toys tumbling down in his room! I hurried out of bed to see that he had woke up, turned on his light and was playing with toys. He had made a lego tower to high with other heavy toys, so it caused the tower to tumble down! He's just going to be 3 years old in two weeks! I asked him 'why didn't you wake mommy or daddy up & to tell us you were awake?! Remember I told you, you have to wake us when you wake up" --he responded "i don't know, I forgot".........how innocent our kids are, they're to little to remember everything. Their minds are small with a short span memory......it is scary not knowing everything they can get into when we parents aren't around.

My prayers go out to Mike's family.

My heart aches for them!! How sad!! I didn't hear that... that is just so sad! I can't even imagine what the mom is going through..... and the boy that was 7 that found her. They said she was brain dead when the ambulance arrived. Just so words. They will all need our prayers, I don't know how many other kids the mom has but she can't fall apart on them, she will need lots of strength, let us pray for them all.

I saw this late last night while reading some news. How tragic! I too went around the house looking at hazards because my 2 year old grandson and parents are staying with me right now. I have always raised the cord to the blinds so he can't reach those, but as with this tragedy there are other hazards.

It is unimaginable the grief and blame the mother feels because she was responsible for watching the kids. The young boy who found her because I imagine for him it will be an image that he will always remember. And for Tyson he was not there to help.

I too send prayers for this family.

they said that the damage was done (regardless of how long she was actually like that before they found her) in about 2-3 minutes!!!! they need our prayers!
