I know he had many accomplishments in his life but, unfortunately, when I hear the name Ted Kennedy I think of Chappaquiddick.

People did not forget or were they likely to. Cost him the President`s chair? { Probably } He was much like his brothers, scandals and less than moral behavior. { typical of most government folks }

I know the man made some mistakes in his lifetime. Gosh, I don’t know anyone who hasn’t. But he did make a major impact with his life. Not that many people around this little ol’ world that would recognize my name as fast as they do his. Sorry to see him go like that…Jaydock

The Kennedy family has been both blessed and cursed over the decades, to be sure. Accomplishments and karma were eminent, yet how could we...for those of us around back in the old days..."overlook" what appeared total impropriety on the part of the Kennedy boys? I wonder some times if part of why they remained cursed was due to the situations earlier encountered...or maybe why they tried so hard to do great things...perhaps penance, who knows....God be with them.

Update on the news coverage... its still the only thing we can watch on NBC, ABC, or CBS. No soapies on tv... no morning shows... it was all coverage all day for the last 3.... i dont even think Oprah aired here.

Can you show the man some damn respect? I mean, he deserves it. I can tell you what was TOO much coverage on a person, and that was Michael Jackson's death. For two, maybe even three weeks that was ALL that was on the news. He was a drug addict, he died from an overdose. Ted Kennedy fought with a brain tumor, and cancer.

FYI, ALL the kennedy boys were womanizer`s among other things. That`s ok in your book? John had Norma Jean, Ted drowned one, not sure bout Bobby. Mostly he had a hardon for Hoffa, And daddy was a bootlegger. It`s all history, facts.

All I asked was for the people posting in this thread to show some respect. It's always sad to see someone go that was an important part in this country. I just hate seeing people posting completely random posts like " OMG WHO WON THE LOTTERY?!?!, TOO MUCH COVERAGE", The news isn't dedicating all of their time to him like they did to Michael Jackson, now the death of Michael Jackson was a drug overdose, he was addicted to drugs, but they STILL reported on him for weeks nonstop.
