I love spinach, raw or cooked. My favorite way to cook it is with olive oil, salt, chopped garlic, and a little *freshly grated* nutmeg--this might sound strange to those who haven't tried it, but freshly grated nutmeg tastes different than the powdered kind.

I go sauteed with olive oil, garlic and hot pepper. I make this all the time because spinach is one of the few veggies I actually like.

Hey mavee27,
I haven't seen you around until tonight and you have helped me and now you are making me really hungry! LOL! I see you are from Philly, PA. We are practically neighbors. I'm from central NJ. Just went through your town Wed. Went to Longwood Gardens...have you been? Absolutely beautiful! If you haven't - you need to go...it's only about 30 minutes from you. Nice talking to ya and keep posting!
Donna

Hey, I actually haven't been there yet. It's one of those places I keep saying I'm gonna go to, but haven't gotten around to yet. How was it? I hear it's really gorgeous. It;s actually a little over an hour from where I'm at in Philly (I'm on the border). Where in central jersey are u? Most of my family is in South jersey, but a few are in what I think would be considered central. Later, Melissa.

Hi, Nice to meet you Melissa. You definitely have to get there! It really is so pretty. Worth the ride for sure. I am in Mercer County, NJ. I am familiar with some parts of South Jersey too! I practice Martial Arts and go down to my weapons vendor in Riverside all the time. How's that for weird? - LOL!

Here is a great way to eat spinach raw. Sounds weird, but I guarantee this is one of the best tasting sandwiches you'll ever eat...

Take these ingredients and use them together on a sandwich:

rye bread
pesto
apple (thin slices)
spinach
goat chevre

Using very sweet apples, and good pesto (preferably homemade) is a must for best results. I usually toast the bread, and make open face sandwiches

Seriously good eats there!
That sounds so good. I am going to have to try it now..
