Lightbulb Heart Healthy Diet

My brother came to live with us with doctors orders to get on a heart healthy diet. This means only one thing-WE ALL GO ON DIET. Any creative eating ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thats Great! I was just reading earlier tonight how Fresh Blueberries (a cup a day) can reverse heart disease, so they must be good for the heart. I was munching on some and figured I'd look up what health benefits they have and that was one of them! They make a great topping for a lot of things, in a salad, by them self or even with some sherbet or something. Good Luck!

A glass of red wine a day, A lot of fish with Omega-3 or you can buy supplements for that. Dark grapes - anything that has antioxidants like blueberries, pomegranite. Usually the red fruits have the antioxidants in it.

basically for a heart healy diet you gonna need to seriously control the food that you may love. foods like cheese red meat, and my personal favorite...anything with grease. kick up the fruits and veggie, and the going out to eat is over with. now i say control these things because when people think of healthy the first think that thye think of is cutting out the "bad" foods. and this couldent be farther form the truth...everything in moderation. you cant have hamburger and steak every night of the week, but there is no reason that you cant have it once a week, or once every two weeks. remeber that food pyramid that you were taught about in school...the five basic food groups...follow that have a nice balance of everything and you can still eat what you enjoy. btu consider buying low fat cheese or milk, and steaks with less fat. eat more chicken, or buy ground turkey(absolutely no fat) try turkey sausage in place of your jimmy dean. fish is a great source of protein and omega 3. remember all this new diet means is that you have to look at the labels a bit differently. and control what you eat more. not give up what you love
