Exactly its a rookie mistake. He has no experience and I hope he'll get us out of this but I doubt he will.

Sadly I do not believe it is a "rookie mistake". My fear is that these choices are based on a political philosophy that will spell disaster for our economy and, in the long run, our country.

I hope that there are no Americans out there who think that, at this time in history, we can afford something as frightening as a rookie mistake. Especially if one is compounded upon another.

We all need to pay attention to what is happening here and speak out. It our our rights as Americans to do so.

I believe ppl are just to bitter to realize that he can change government as we know it today. I also believe when He starts taxing ppl by their income and all the bush bills end in 2010. Let them Rich Bastards Pay. Let them see what it is like to Bugdet an Income. Way To Go Barrack.

Frivolous spending and a lackadaisical attitude toward saving and planning for the future are going to all but disappear in most American households. The party is over. Back to reality for a time. I can't stand the way conservative radio talking heads mockingly call him "messiah" and "the one," but I believe he has been appointed and anointed for such a time as this. Can you smell what BARACK's been cookin'?! LOL
I agree Shontel. Change is inevitable, with this new economy will come a new way of thinking and hopefully, a NEW way of doing things. We need to adapt ourselves for the future of this nation. Until, the majority gets comfortable with us actually having our first black president, someone's always going to be trying to place blame on Barack (for one thing or another).

I am just so ecstatic that this president isn't so concerned with the power he holds, but the things he can get done with that power. I'm happy that the president is someone that most (average) people can relate too and not just the rich 2% of the world...lol. Just my 2 cents!

Oh and just remember...it took Bush 8 years to get us into this mess, it's gonna take some time and a whole lot of effort from both us Americans, and our president to get things back to "normal"--(whatever that means)

Rich bastards? Do you really think that they are the only ones who's tax dollars will have to pay for these pork projects? Pig farts, maple trees, frogs? Budget an income? It's YOUR money! Can you afford one single dollar of your hard earned money to pay for this? I can't! THAT'S how they're budgeting your tax dollars. You should be outraged!

This is the disconnect. It isn't only the top 2% who will bare this burden. We all need to stand up, educate ourselves and demand more accountability and transparency from our elected officials. Not just rhetoric! Truthfully, what reason on earth is there for not taking the time to read, understand, and edit this bill before they signed off on it? We should all be outraged. It's not a partisan issue, it's an issue of accountability and fiscal responsibility. They work for US and they do not have my permission to blow MY money! I've got a family to feed and a mortgage that I intend to pay WITHOUT a handout!

What was Dick Cheney's quote again?

"Reagan showed us that the national debt does not matter.”

Perhaps you would elaborate on that blacklab. Many of us are not as well versed in political history as you perhaps are and could benefit from more detail on the philosophy of the Reagan doctrine.

Personally I was not a Reagan fan (understatement), too young and politically ignorant to understand (another understatement) but I do try to learn from the lessons that history teaches us at this more enlightened time in my life.

We have to stop pointing fingers, blaming the past administrations and making this a race or gender or partisan issue. We are all fighting for our future and the future of our children. There is no time to use complacency or ignorance any anything else as an excuse. Obama is our leader but we are not mindless lemmings!

WE the people. A government OF the People, BY the People , FOR the People. Take personal responsibility! If not you, then who? If not now, then when?

The point is that a lot of the angry Rush Limbaugh types that are now complaining had absolutely no problem with Bush or Reagan running up the highest debts in history. If Joe Biden goes on tv tomorrow and says that the national debt doesn't matter, then they would be all over him. The very same people who backed up Cheney when he said that.

You have Republicans like Ron Paul who will call it the way they see it no matter if a D or an R is the president. Then you have others who somehow didn't manage to notice that the government was on it's biggest spending spree ever during the last 8 years. Even if you take out the extra war funding, it was still record spending.
