Re: Customer Service Representative Opportunities

I just thought i would add a few things from experience in here to help clear some things up. The companies listed are real.. and legit and yes they do hire agents from home. I actually have a list of companies that do hire home based agents.. should anyone want them feel free to PM me. One misconception is that because you have to pay a fee for a background or credit check that they are scamming you. That is not the case. If you are hired.. you will be dealing with other peoples personal and confidential information.. thus the reason for the background checks. The companies make you pay for them because you are considered an independant contractor with them.. which also means they can terminate your contract at anytime. Most of the companies hire for seasonal work and will keep the exceptional agents afterwards. Another thing to watch for.. is the requirements.. such as computer software, headsets, internet connections and such. Also, if you do apply, don't be surprised if you don't hear back from them right away, some companies can take up to 3 months before they get back to you. It's a good home based job for anyone that is self disciplined in time management as you will be sitting for a period of time. I happen to be working for a company now that i started with back in May. It's more on the sales agent department but no cold calling. They are looking for agents but only those who are willing to be contracted at 32 hours a week. The pay is Great.. and yes i have proof but i am not posting it on the forum.....they pay every friday via direct Deposit. If you would like more info just let me know.. but like I stated.. it's more for those who dont mind upselling (sales) over the phone!

Re: Customer Service Representative Opportunities

I have been working for WEST since Dec. 07. They are a legitimate company and I have been paid every 2 wks direct deposit, no fail. Yes the minimum you could be paid is whatever minimum wage is in your area, but for me that's better than nothing. Also if you checkout Work Place Like Homethey list a lot of legitimate work from home companies. It is a free forum you can join and people will post their experiences about the different companies.

Re: Customer Service Representative Opportunities

Thanks to both of you...great job of filling in blanks, however, as in the real world, I still cannot find reason to have a credit check involved with an occupation...ESPECIALLY phone sales:) Life forces often exhibit themselves on credit reports but have little reflection upon one's ability to do a job and do it well....or not:)

I have only actually stumbled upon 2 companies that did credit checks.. which i agree with youtotally on. Almost all the companies will ask for a background check... which i don't see any problem with because it's just their way of making sure no felonies or criminal charges are on your record as you will be dealing with peoples personal information. For example.. the company i work for, sometimes I need to get ssn.. credit card information and things like that. So to me.. a background check makes perfect sense. Credit check.. I dont see the point, but then again.. there are plenty of outside jobs that have started doing the credit checks as well. especially Banks! Go figure!

Re: Customer Service Representative Opportunities

And I agree, C....background checks and even a UA make total sense - it's just paying for them that bothers me, although I understand how...in a venture of this nature and with all the applicants they prolly get, it could be a huge business expenditure. However, I also question why they can't offer a reimbursement of these costs to folks who stay with the program, doing a good job, after say 90 days as in a probationary time frame...like the real world:)

Now, that would make more sense to me and from a business standpoint, be a great incentive, as most folks who are trying to work need money...they don't have the spare to go out and pay for this stuff unless they know they are going to be reimbursed:) lol....opinions are wonderful, eh? :)

Re: Customer Service Representative Opportunities

They def are.. LOL but thats why i always encourage people to do the reaerch on the company before applying. The company i work for now offers great bonuses both weekly and monthly, and the only investment was for the background check. They do not pay less Than $10... depending on how many hours you work a week is what you hourly wage is. So in my case.. a $25 fee was worth it! And as I stated, you are actually considered and independant contractor.. but much like freebie trading.. a little investment can go a loong ways ;)
